A cumulative score for a player's career regular-season accolades — stacked, not exclusive.
A player who was an All-Star, All-NBA 1st Team, and MVP in the same season scores 5 points for that year alone.
Years with a cancelled All-Star Game (1999 lockout) or before 1951 use All-NBA selections as a stand-in, so no one is unfairly zeroed out.
Career-capstone or fan-voted selections (Dirk and Wade in 2019, Kobe/Yao's injury-plagued All-Star nods) do add a little noise, but the model treats it as noise that washes out over a full career rather than something to correct for.
Defensive Player of the Year (1983 on) and the All-Defensive teams (1969 on) are in the data and editable, but worth 0 points by default, because my view is that these were historically inconsistent, "vibes-based" awards, especially before the last 10 years or so. Give them a value under Model Inputs → RS Gold Point Values to see how they would change the picture; your edits to them in the What-If Editor will then count too.
