Best regular-season peak window: the sum of each player's top seasons by PPP + RS Gold combined. Click the peak-years count to see which seasons counted.
Peak measures a player at their absolute best — PPP + RS Gold over their 6 best regular seasons (6 best postseasons for the playoff version) — so a short, era-inflated hot streak can't outrank sustained greatness, but a long prime isn't diluted by early- or late-career decline either.
Both windows default to 6 seasons/runs — deliberately long enough to include every traditionally-accepted great player's real prime, without stretching so long that it overly discounts players who missed time to injury or played in eras with shorter typical careers.
Playoff Peak adds a bonus point per round advanced (0/1/2/3/4 for First Round through winning it all) — a 9.5-level performance is harder to sustain across three series than one.
Winning Finals MVP adds a further bonus (2 points by default) on top of that round bonus — a smaller bump than the 3-point regular-season MVP bonus, not an equivalent mirror of it.
That round-advancement bonus shrinks the more help a player had — the model deliberately discounts it as teammate quality rises.
